At SFGI, each of our doctors are gastroenterologists that have been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. This represents the highest certification possible for a gastroenterologist doctor. Receiving this board certification requires 4 years of medical school, 3 years of residency, 3 years of fellowship training in gastroenterology, and passing the board certification exam.
