The Brown & Toland 20th Year Celebratory Dinner

Dr. Farrell and Dr. Cabansag attended the Brown & Toland 20th year celebratory dinner, which marked two decades of supporting independent doctors. Nearly 300 physicians attended this event to recognize the landmark occasion. In fact, our very own Dr. Farrell was pictured at the event, in the Brown & Toland newsletter.
Brown & Toland is a prominent insurance provider in San Francisco and the only physician-run independent practice association (IPA) in the Bay Area. “They said it wouldn’t last, it has lasted. I think we’ve shown that an IPA that works well can survive,” said Chairman Neal Birnbaum, M.D. Over the past 20 years, Brown & Toland has adapted to the changes in the medical industry, being one of the first IPAs in the nation to implement PPO contracting and deploy electronic health records to its doctors.
